The Nigerian government has restated its commitment to strengthening cyber security as the country’s digital economy is rapidly growing.

The World Bank in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy has organized a cybersecurity stakeholder capacity building workshop for Nigeria. We are glad to be given yet another opportunity to contribute to such timely and important discussions.

The president of Nigeria Computer Society ,  Professor Adesina Simon Sodiya, FNCS , attended the opening session of the Two-Day Cybersecurity Stakeholders Capacity Building Workshop today at the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy Annex in Abuja.

Prof. Sodiya was ably represented at the event by a Fellow of the society, AVM(Rtd) Victor Udoh, FNCS . Also, at the workshop to represent NCS were Mr. Peter Effiom, Abuja Chapter Director of Events and Mobilisation, Mr. Yakubu Daiman Chibok, MNCS, MD/CEO, Cyforce Technologies, and Mr. Sunday Songo , Head Abuja office.

The capacity building workshop is hosted by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in partnership with the World Bank. The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, professor Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami), FNCS , . delivered a keynote address and declared the workshop opened.
